Stat. § 26:2H-37","heading":"Definitions.","body":"2.\tAs used in this act, and unless the context otherwise requires:\na.\t\"Boarding or nursing home\" or \"home\" means:  a private nursing home or convalescent home regulated under chapter 11 of Title 30 of the Revised Statutes; a facility or institution, private or public, regulated and licensed as an extended care facility, skilled nursing home, nursing home, or intermediate care facility pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 to 26:2H-26); a residential health care facility, as defined in section 1 of P.L.1953, c.212 (C.30:11A-1) or licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 to 26:2H-26); or a dementia care home as defined in section 17 of P.L.2015, c.125 (C.26:2H-148).\nb.\t\"Owner\" means the holder or holders of the title in fee simple to the property on which the home is located.\nc.\t\"Licensee\" means the holder or holders of a license to operate a boarding or nursing home pursuant to chapter 11 of Title 30 of the Revised Statutes, P.L.1953, c.212 (C.30:11A-1 to 30:11A-14) or P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 to 26:2H-26).\nd.\t\"Department\" means the State Department of Health.\nL.1977, c.238, s.2; amended 1979, c.496, s.24; 2015, c.125, s.7.","path":["TITLE 26 HEALTH AND VITAL STATISTICS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"c6d4bc5692b29c5c7505a425684dae785fc38500648d659ee9a01589a745b3f3","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-26-2h-36","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-26-2h-38"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
