Every certificate of authority to establish and operate a health maintenance organization issued or continued in this State pursuant to P.L.1973, c.337 (C.26:2J-1 et seq.), or approved for issuance or renewal in this State, by the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance, on or after the effective date of this act, for a health maintenance organization which provides benefits for maternity services, shall provide for reimbursement in installments to an obstetrical provider licensed in New Jersey for maternity services rendered during the term of a covered person's pregnancy.\nb.\tFor the purposes of this section, \"obstetrical provider licensed in New Jersey\" means:\n(1)\tan obstetrician/gynecologist licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners; or\n(2)\ta midwife licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners as a certified midwife or a certified nurse midwife.\nc.\tThis section shall apply to all enrollee agreements in which the health maintenance organization has reserved the right to change the schedule of charges.\nL.2009, c.113, s.8.","path":["TITLE 26 HEALTH AND VITAL STATISTICS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"20caa76fce5f6546b8e6bf8eb9b790275e039a67878e59d6ed8a6908d058e5df","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-26-2j-4.32","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-26-2j-4.34"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
