The department shall use administrative enforcement, to the same extent as used for intrastate cases, in response to a request made by another state to enforce a support order, and shall promptly report the results of the enforcement procedure to the requesting state.  The department shall respond to a request made by another state to enforce a support order through electronic means, when feasible.\nb.\tThe department may, by electronic or other means, transmit to another state a request for assistance in enforcing support orders through administrative enforcement.\nc.\tThe requesting state's request shall:\n(1)\tinclude such information as will enable the state to which the request is transmitted to compare the information about the case to the information in the databases of the state; and\n(2)\tconstitute a certification by the requesting state:\n(a)\tof the amount of support under an order that the payment of which is in arrears; and\n(b)\tthat the requesting state has complied with all procedural due process requirements applicable to each case.\nd.\tIf the department provides assistance to another state pursuant to this section with respect to a case, neither state shall consider the case to be transferred to the caseload of the other state.\ne.\tThe department shall maintain records of: the number of requests for assistance received by the State; the number of cases for which the State collected support in response to the request; and the amount of support collected.\nL.1998,c.1,s.15.","path":["TITLE 2A ADMINISTRATION OF CIVIL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"207562305daca65fd04062c2d6ac0a0121618e427daba3222ecf248e649f6773","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-2a-17-56.63","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-2a-17-56.65"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
