Stat. § 2A:4-30.174","heading":"Contest of registration or enforcement.","body":"51.\tContest of registration or enforcement.\na.\tA party contesting the validity or enforcement of a registered support order or seeking to vacate the registration has the burden of proving one or more of the following defenses:\n(1)\tthe issuing tribunal lacked personal jurisdiction over the contesting party;\n(2)\tthe order was obtained by fraud;\n(3)\tthe order has been vacated, suspended, or modified by a later order;\n(4)\tthe issuing tribunal has stayed the order pending appeal;\n(5)\tthere is a defense under the law of this State to the remedy sought;\n(6)\tfull or partial payment has been made;\n(7)\tthe statute of limitation under section 48 of this act precludes enforcement of some or all of the alleged arrearages; or\n(8)\tthe alleged controlling order is not the controlling order.\nb.\tIf a party presents evidence establishing a full or partial defense under subsection a., a tribunal may stay enforcement of a registered support order, continue the proceeding to permit production of additional relevant evidence, and issue other appropriate orders.
