The department shall establish a reporting system for compiling information about physical assaults and unexpected deaths that occur at State psychiatric hospitals, and shall summarize the information in a report which, at a minimum, shall separately identify for each State psychiatric hospital:\n(1)\tthe number of major and moderate injuries among patients;\n(2)\tthe number of major and moderate injuries between patients and staff members; and\n(3)\tthe number of unexpected deaths.\nb.\tThe report prepared pursuant to this section shall not contain any identifying information about a patient or staff member.\nc.\tThe report shall be considered a public or government record under P.L.1963, c.73 (C.47:1A-1 et seq.) or P.L.2001, c.404 (C.47:1A-5 et al.), and shall be posted on the official website of the department and updated quarterly.\nL.2009, c.161, s.2.","path":["TITLE 30 INSTITUTIONS AND AGENCIES"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"f74f5dfcccc622a6980095def5babc0bbab39bbc46f48128324a3030d8b5c8c1","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-4-3.23","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-4-3.25"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
