The Director of the Division of Family Development in the Department of Human Services, a designee of the Commissioner of Children and Families, and the Director of the Division on Women in the Department of Children and Families shall establish a Child Care Advisory Council which shall consist of at least 15 individuals who have experience, training, or other interests in child care issues.  To the extent possible, the directors shall designate members of existing councils or task forces heretofore established on child care in New Jersey as the advisory council.\nb.\tThe advisory council shall:\n(1)\tReview rules and regulations or proposed revisions to existing rules and regulations governing the licensing of child care centers;\n(2)\tReview proposed statutory amendments governing the licensing of child care centers and make recommendations to the commissioner;\n(3)\tAdvise the commissioner on the administration of the licensing responsibilities under this act;\n(4)\tAdvise the Commissioners of Human Services and Children and Families and other appropriate units of State government on the needs, priorities, programs, and policies relating to child care throughout the State;\n(5)\tStudy and recommend alternative resources for child care; and\n(6)\tFacilitate employer supported child care through information and technical assistance.\nc.\tThe advisory council may accept from any governmental department or agency, public or private body, or any other source grants or contributions to be used in carrying out its responsibilities under P.L.1983, c.492 (C.30:5B-1 et seq.).\nL.1983, c.492, s.14; amended 1992, c.95, s.4; 2006, c.47, s.165; 2012, c.16, s.119.","path":["TITLE 30 INSTITUTIONS AND AGENCIES"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"960bda2e485672a65aab3e374b1bd4ebf27fe8400011541a43c27d57005fa6cb","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-5b-13","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-5b-15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
