Stat. § 30:6D-12.2","heading":"Findings, declarations relative to self-directed support services for persons with developmental disabilities.","body":"2.\tThe Legislature finds and declares that:\na.\tThere is a need for innovative approaches to meet the needs of persons with developmental disabilities;\nb.\tWhile there are many fine group homes, supervised apartments and other supervised living arrangements for persons with developmental disabilities, there is a need for not only an expansion of the availability of such programs, but also the development of innovative programs that are self-directed by persons with developmental disabilities and their families and guardians;\nc.\tThe availability of innovative self-directed programs will expand the capacity of the Department of Human Services to serve the needs of persons with developmental disabilities; and\nd.\tIt is important to emphasize that persons with developmental disabilities who participate in these highly desirable self-directed approaches to care retain the rights guaranteed to them under the \"Developmentally Disabled Rights Act,\" P.L.1977, c.82 (C.30:6D-1 et seq.).\nL.2008, c.128, s.2.","path":["TITLE 30 INSTITUTIONS AND AGENCIES"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"0228985f5b728d94fa910073e4042c298743ed4e8ff730bca030ec27c0aad6e8","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-6d-12.1","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-30-6d-12.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
