Stat. § 33:1-81","heading":"Misrepresenting age to induce sale or delivery to minor; disorderly person.","body":"It shall be unlawful for:\n(a)\tA person under the legal age for purchasing alcoholic beverages to enter any premises licensed for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages for the purpose of purchasing, or having served or delivered to him or her, any alcoholic beverage; or\n(b)\tA person under the legal age for purchasing alcoholic beverages to consume any alcoholic beverage on premises licensed for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages, or to purchase, attempt to purchase or have another purchase for him any alcoholic beverage; or\n(c)\tAny person to misrepresent or misstate his age, or the age of any other person for the purpose of inducing any licensee or any employee of any licensee, to sell, serve or deliver any alcoholic beverage to a person under the legal age for purchasing alcoholic beverages; or\n(d)\tAny person to enter any premises licensed for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages for the purpose of purchasing, or to purchase alcoholic beverages, for another person who does not because of his age have the right to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.\nAny person who shall violate any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed and adjudged to be a disorderly person, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $500.\nIn addition to the general penalties prescribed for an offense, the court may require any person under the legal age to purchase alcoholic beverages who violates this act to participate in an alcohol education or treatment program authorized by the Department of Health for a period not to exceed the maximum period of confinement prescribed by law for the offense for which the individual has been convicted.\namended 1939, c.246; 1953, c.37, s.4; 1964, c.40; 1979, c.265; 1983, c.574; (s.2 eff. date amended 1985, c.113, s.2); 1985, c.113, s.1; 1991, c.169, s.1; 2019, c.276, s.10.","path":["TITLE 33 INTOXICATING LIQUORS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"6579a0bc3693b66559a233c7c83b0020733c01a9e2b3b508f0bcad22f088424d","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-33-1-80","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-33-1-81.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
