It shall be unlawful for a person to manufacture, distribute, sell, or use a fabricated sign in violation of section 5 of P.L.2019, c.84 (C.34:15B-44).\nb.\tIn addition to any other penalties provided by law :\n(1)\ta person who manufactures, distributes, sells, or uses a fabricated sign in violation of section 5 of P.L.2019, c.84 (C.34:15B-44) shall be subject to a civil penalty of 25 percent of the value of the contract for the sign, but not less than $5,000 for a first offense and not less than $10,000 for any subsequent offense, to be collected in a civil action by a summary proceeding under the \"Penalty Enforcement Law of 1999,\" P.L.1999, c.274 (C.2A:58-10 et seq.).  The Superior Court shall have jurisdiction of proceedings for the enforcement of the penalty provided by this paragraph;\n(2) a person who manufactures, distributes, sells, or uses a fabricated sign erected or maintained pursuant to P.L.1991, c.413 (C.27:5-5 et seq.) in violation of section 5 of P.L.2019, c.84 (C.34:15B-44) shall be subject to the penalties set forth in P.L.1991, c.413 (C.27:5-5 et seq.), including revocation of a license or permit pursuant to section 9 of P.L.1991, c.413 (C.27:5-13) and removal of a sign pursuant to section 11 of P.L.1991, c.413 (C.27:5-15).\n(3)\ta person who manufactures a fabricated sign erected or maintained pursuant to P.L.1991, c.413 (C.27:5-5 et seq.) in violation of section 5 of P.L.2019, c.84 (C.34:15B-44) shall be liable for the cost to make all necessary adjustments or corrections to ensure the sign is not in violation of section 5 of P.L.2019, c.84 (C.34:15B-44) to any party who incurs that cost.\nL.2019, c.84, s.6.","path":["TITLE 34 LABOR AND WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"f9b67397a28b02cbaeb849dbbb03ba4af913af710182c4ce8fba3e8ef354fe47","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-34-15b-44","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-34-15b-46"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
