Stat. § 38A:3-52","heading":"Definitions relative to a Gold Star Family Counseling program.","body":"2.\tAs used in this act:\n\"Gold Star family member\" means an individual who is a New Jersey resident and is the surviving spouse, domestic partner, partner in a civil union, parent, brother, sister, child, legal guardian, or other legal custodian, whether of the whole blood or the half blood, of by adoption, of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or the National Guard who died while on active duty for the United States.\n\"Mental health care professional\" means a person who provides mental health services and is licensed or otherwise authorized, pursuant to Title 45 of the Revised Statutes, to practice a health care profession that is regulated by one of the following : the State Board of Medical Examiners; the State Board of Psychological Examiners; the State Board of Social Work Examiners; the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners; the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee; the Professional Counselor Examiners Committee; and the Certified Psychoanalysts Advisory Committee.\nL.2017, c.174, s.2.","path":["TITLE 38A MILITARY AND VETERANS LAW"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"06e30dc4fec3305c341dabc6f413cd9f8ed883890a6f5daf2958e32b4e787455","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-38a-3-51","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-38a-3-53"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
