Stat. § 39:4-139.6","heading":"Failure to answer or appear; rule applicable; procedures; notice","body":"The municipal court shall immediately upon expiration of time to answer or appear, with respect to residents of New Jersey, follow the procedures set forth in R. 7:6-3(a) of the Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey.  These procedures include the mailing of a notice of offense or a failure to appear notice to defendant.  That notice shall be on a form approved by the Administrative Director of the Courts and shall inform the defendant of the parking offense charged; the time and date of the parking offense; the amount of fines, penalties and costs due; of his right to have a hearing;  that a civil judgment may be entered against him for failure to appear or pay the amount due; and that his driver's license may be suspended; that his driving privileges may be revoked; and that a warrant may be issued for his arrest.\nThe procedures set forth in R. 7:6-3(c) of the Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey shall be followed in the case of a nonresident.\nL. 1985, c. 14, s. 5.","path":["TITLE 39 MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC REGULATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"d9dac14258e7707b0e34cf075de801bdc75f184c42e8ef1a298ded191038a8f7","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-39-4-139.5","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-39-4-139.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
