The Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to receive and expend, for the purposes specified in subsection b. of this section, any moneys that are obtained thereby through:\n(1)\tappropriations or allocations of funds to the department for purposes consistent with this act, except for moneys allocated for the State Food Purchase Program;\n(2)\tgrant or loan awards made available to the department for purposes consistent with this act;\n(3)\tdirect contributions, gifts, legacies, bequests, or endowments for purposes consistent with this act; and\n(4)\tany other source for purposes consistent with this act.\nb.\tThe secretary shall deposit all moneys received pursuant to subsection a. of this section in a special account to be known as the \"New Jersey Fresh Mobiles Operation Fund.\"  The secretary may expend the moneys deposited in the fund, in addition to any interest accrued thereon, and any dividends and returns resulting from investment of the moneys in the fund, for any of the following purposes:\n(1)\tadvertising and publicizing the initiative;\n(2)\tdeveloping and distributing educational materials as part of the initiative;\n(3)\tproviding financing for any studies that are reasonably necessary to evaluate the efficacy of the Fresh Mobiles Initiative Pilot Program;\n(4)\toffsetting any costs incurred by the department or participating municipalities in complying with the provisions of this act; and\n(5)\tproviding financing for any other activity or endeavor that is consistent with the purposes of this act, and that will support, or facilitate the efficient and effective operation of, the Fresh Mobiles Initiative Pilot Program.\nL.2011, c.223, s.7.","path":["TITLE 4 AGRICULTURE AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"7e4031d55caa6582937a4af2b3f07a30cffa61fb423c6870e072809a407dd7ea","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-10-25.8","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-10-25.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
