The Department of Health, in consultation with the Attorney General, shall:\n(1)\tprovide to each municipality in writing sufficient copies of (a)this act, R.S.4:22-17, and R.S.4:22-26; (b) a plain language description of the provisions and requirements thereof; and (c) a plain language description of how to comply with those provisions and requirements; and\n(2)\tpost on its website the materials enumerated in paragraph (1) of this subsection.\nb.\tEach municipality shall:\n(1)\tprovide the materials enumerated in and provided pursuant to subsection a. of this section, along with any other information deemed relevant by the municipality, to each person obtaining a license for a dog at the time of licensing; and\n(2)\tpost on its website the materials enumerated in and provided pursuant to subsection a. of this section.\nThe municipality may pay any cost incurred by complying with the requirements of this subsection with fees forwarded to the treasurer of the municipality pursuant to section 11 of P.L.1941, c.151 (C.4:19-15.11).\nL.2017, c.189, s.6.","path":["TITLE 4 AGRICULTURE AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"b476821b3d39a9b6a2dc389e25c0131fef0ededfb088a89a17a628cf5ab0a673","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-22-17.5","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-22-17.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
