A specialty fertilizer must be labeled as provided in section 10 of P.L.1970, c.66 (C.4:9-15.10), and additional items may be required by regulation.\nb.\tThe container for a specialty fertilizer intended for use on turf must include the following information in a readable and conspicuous form and shall be considered the label:\nNet Weight\nBrand Name\nGrade\nGuaranteed Analysis:\nTotal Nitrogen (N)...........................................................%\n......................................................% Ammoniacal Nitrogen\n.............................................................% Nitrate Nitrogen\n...............................................................% Urea Nitrogen\n...........................................% Other Water Soluble Nitrogen\n.................................................% Water Insoluble Nitrogen\nAvailable Phosphate (P2O5)..............................................%\nSoluble Potash (K2O)......................................................%\nAdditional Plant Nutrients as prescribed by regulation.\nName and address of the licensee.\nc. (1) The container of a specialty fertilizer intended for use on turf that does not contain pesticides regulated pursuant to the \"Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act,\" 7 U.S.C.s.136 et seq., shall also contain the following summary of best management practices for nutrient management in turf in a readable and conspicuous form:\n\"Do not apply near water, storm drains or drainage ditches.  Do not apply if heavy rain is expected. Apply this product only to your lawn, and sweep any product that lands on the driveway, sidewalk or street back onto your lawn.\"\n(2)\tA container of a specialty fertilizer intended for use on turf that also contains a pesticide regulated pursuant to the \"Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act,\" 7 U.S.C.s.136 et seq., shall include the environmental hazard statement recommended by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for that product.\nd.\tAs used in this section, \"turf\" means land, including residential property, that is planted in closely mowed, managed grass, except land used in the operation of a commercial farm as that term is defined pursuant to section 3 of P.L.1983, c.31 (C.4:1C-3).\nL.1970, c.66, s.13; amended 2010, c.112, s.12.","path":["TITLE 4 AGRICULTURE AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"7eca9d66df7409962c88113914e863ef25fee2cbe222b028f0cc929b953af29a","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-9-15.12","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-4-9-15.13a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
