Stat. § 44:1-102","heading":"Place of settlement in general","body":"Every person of full age who is a resident of, and domiciled without interruption in, a municipality for five years, or in a county for five years but not in a municipality thereof, excluding in the computation of the period the time if any spent by the person in a charitable or correctional institution, shall be deemed settled respectively in that municipality or county and shall so remain until he has:\na.  Gained a like settlement in some other municipality or county in this state;\nb.  Gained a legal settlement elsewhere in this state;  or\nc.
