Stat. § 44:1-24","heading":"Appointment of superintendent;  qualifications","body":"The county welfare board shall appoint a superintendent of welfare who shall  be the director of welfare under the direction and supervision of that board.   The superintendent shall:\na.  Have the qualifications and be subject to the same examination as an overseer;\nb.  Be a citizen of this state and of the United States;\nc.  Be able to read and write the English language;\nd.  Be capable of making and keeping such records and reports as are lawfully required of him;\ne.  Have complete knowledge of the laws concerning the relief and maintenance of the poor;  and\nf.
