Stat. § 44:4-26","heading":"Board as manager of welfare-house","body":"When the board of chosen freeholders shall establish a county welfare-house  for the permanent maintenance and relief of the poor in any county and shall  have acquired a site therefor, awarded contracts for the necessary building and  improvements thereon, and resolved to maintain a county welfare-house as is  provided in this chapter, the county welfare board shall constitute the board  of managers of such welfare-house.  As such board of managers the county  welfare board shall have charge of all matters relating to the government,  discipline, contracts and fiscal concerns of the welfare-house as appropriated  by the chosen freeholders, and shall make such rules and regulations as may be  necessary for carrying out the purposes of such welfare-house.","path":["TITLE 44 POOR"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"51b999f1e0c9bc4902786330036698c64d9e92925d1759080cf8ec742682e882","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-44-4-25","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-44-4-27"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
