The superintendent, through rule and regulation, shall establish an education and training program for bounty hunters who make application to be licensed pursuant to the provisions of section 14 of this act.  The program shall consist of such subjects and courses as the superintendent may deem appropriate and shall include a minimum number of hours of classroom or other instruction.\nb.\tIn implementing and administering the education and training program required in subsection a. of this section, the superintendent shall have the power:\n(1)\tto implement and administer or approve the minimum courses of study and training;\n(2)\tto issue certificates of approval to schools approved by the superintendent and to withdraw certificates of approval from those schools disapproved by the superintendent;\n(3)\tto certify instructors pursuant to the minimum qualifications established by the superintendent;\n(4)\tto consult and cooperate with universities, colleges, community colleges and institutes for the development of specialized courses for bounty hunters;\n(5)\tto consult and cooperate with departments and agencies of this State, other states and the federal government concerned with training of bounty hunters;\n(6)\tto certify those persons who have satisfactorily completed basic educational and training requirements;\n(7)\tto visit and inspect approved schools;\n(8)\tto establish reasonable charges for training and education provided by the superintendent; and\n(9)\tto make such rules and regulations and to perform such other duties as may be reasonably necessary or appropriate to implement the education and training program.\nL.2005,c.376,s.15.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"1dd82f9b6afdf66cd5ed244b140e7e647205a249fca2613210895b02606a12d9","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-19-41","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-19a-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
