The superintendent shall cause to be issued to a registered security officer an identification card containing such information as the superintendent shall prescribe.  The identification card shall incorporate appropriate security features.\nb.\tA person who is issued an identification card pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall be responsible for its safekeeping and shall not lend, let or allow any other person to use, possess, exhibit or display the card.\nc.\tNo person shall use, possess, exhibit or display any license, card, shield or badge of any design or material purporting to authorize the holder or wearer to act as a security officer, unless such person holds a valid certificate of registration as a security officer pursuant to section 4 of this act.\nd.\tIf it is established to the satisfaction of the superintendent that an identification card has been lost or destroyed, the superintendent shall, upon payment of an appropriate fee, cause to be issued a duplicate identification card for the unexpired portion of the term of the registration.\ne.\tAny person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a crime of the fourth degree in addition to any other crime or offense specified by law.\nL.2004,c.134,s.6.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"91641aaa81f9ef1b11d735cf0a45ea0c27844b607f0423e2c8d231944956ee0d","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-19a-5","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-19a-6.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
