Stat. § 45:2B-49","heading":"Application for licensure; requirements.","body":"8.\tEvery applicant for examination for licensure as a certified public accountant shall present to the board a written application on a form to be provided by the board, together with the required fee, and satisfactory proof of the following:\na.\t(Deleted by amendment, P.L.2019, c.10)\nb.\tthat the applicant is of good moral character; and\nc.\tthat the applicant has at least a baccalaureate or higher degree or its equivalent, except that no applicant shall be issued a license unless the individual has one of the following:\n(1)\ta baccalaureate or higher degree or its equivalent; or\n(2)\tsuccessfully completed 150 hours of education.\nTo qualify under this subsection, the degree earned or 150 hours of education completed shall be obtained from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the Commission on Higher Education, and shall demonstrate a concentration in accounting or its equivalent and related professional courses as determined by regulation of the board.\nL.1997, c.259, s.8; amended 2001, c.149, s.3; 2005, c.104; 2019, c.10, s.2; 2025, c.384, s.2.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"97552970cba1385479f9323531866daa28e3308d1d6771f98cdd0021c97a48d2","source_id":"us-nj","stale":false,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-2b-48","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-2b-50"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
