Stat. § 45:5A-54","heading":"Requirements of perimeter fence intrusion protection system.","body":"2.\tA perimeter fence intrusion protection system shall:\na.\tinterface with a monitored alarm device in a manner that enables the burglar alarm system to transmit a signal intended to summon the business or law enforcement, or both, in response to an intrusion or burglary;\nb.\tbe located on property that is not designated by a municipality exclusively for residential use;\nc.\thave an energizer that is driven by a commercial storage battery that is not more than 12 volts of direct current;\nd.\thave an energizer that meets the standards set forth by the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard 60335-2-76, in its current edition, and as amended and supplemented;\ne.\tbe surrounded by a nonelectric perimeter fence or wall that is not less than five feet in height;\nf.\tnot exceed ten feet in height or two feet higher than the nonelectric perimeter fence or wall described in subsection e. of this section, whichever is higher;\ng.\tbe marked with conspicuous warning signs that are located on the perimeter fence intrusion protection system at not more than 40 foot intervals and that read:  \"WARNING-ELECTRIC FENCE\";\nh.\tcomply with the requirements set forth in the rules and regulations adopted by the board; and\ni.\tbe installed by a person trained by the manufacturer or certified in the installation, maintenance, repair, safety and operation of the perimeter fence intrusion protection system.\nL.2021, c.2, s.2.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"164d5f09cd65ba77bfc91f9df9634d0d3fbc86dbe111e00c67b547d2a55c9229","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-5a-53","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-5a-55"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
