Any individual seeking to convert a home improvement contractor license into a home elevation license may do so by submitting documentation, as prescribed by the board, demonstrating:\n(1)\tat least two years of experience working on home elevations under a home elevation contractor who is licensed pursuant to section 7 of P.L.2023, c.237 (C.45:5AAA-7) or qualifies for licensure pursuant to section 12 of P.L.2023, c.237 (C.45:5AAA-13);\n(2)\tthat the individual has not had a home improvement contractor license or registration or a home elevation contractor license or registration revoked or suspended; and\n(3)\tthat the contractor business registered pursuant to P.L.2004, c.16 (C.56:8-136 et seq.) that employs the contractor maintains cargo or other insurance covering home elevation services as required pursuant to section 7 of P.L.2004, c.16 (C.56:8-142).\nb.\tThe board may charge applicable fees to convert a license from home improvement to home elevation.\nc.\tThe board shall establish the standards and requirements necessary for a limited specialty services licensee to obtain a home improvement or home elevation license.\nL.2023, c.237, s.17.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"91d0ce9a0a6c4c1252b11db605d4fb601da85ec3ff5012fea10fc163b1baba9b","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-5aaa-16","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-5aaa-18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
