The provisions of this act shall not apply to:\na.\tAny person who is employed as a code enforcement official by the State or a political subdivision thereof when acting within the scope of that government employment;\nb.\tAny person regulated by the State as an architect, professional engineer, electrical contractor or master plumber, who is acting within the scope of practice of his profession or occupation;\nc.\tAny real estate broker, broker-salesperson, or salesperson who is licensed  by the State when acting within the scope of his profession;\nd.\tAny State licensed real estate appraiser or certified general or residential real estate appraiser, who is acting within the scope of his profession;\ne.\tAny person regulated by the State as an insurance adjuster, who is acting within the scope of his profession;\nf.\tAny person certified or registered as a pesticide applicator pursuant to subchapter 6 or 8 of chapter 30 of Title 7 of the New Jersey Administrative Code who is acting within the scope of the practice for which he is certified or registered; or\ng.\tAny person making home inspections under the supervision of a licensed home inspector for the purpose of meeting the requirements of subsection d. of section 9 of this act to qualify for licensure as an associate home inspector.\nL.1997,c.323,s.10.","path":["TITLE 45 PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"16d7f301ad27e5c849ed5bc2d3e3b9e7e5c3467e143f7e1d5a8854790ade60e9","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-8-68","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-45-8-71"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
