Stat. § 46:30B-10","heading":"Further conditions to be satisfied to subject property to custody.","body":"Further conditions to be satisfied to subject property to custody.  To subject property to the custody of this State as unclaimed property, the following conditions shall be also satisfied:\na.\tThe last known address, as shown on the records of the holder, of the apparent owner is in this State;\nb.\tThe records of the holder do not reflect the identity of the person entitled to the property and it is established that the last known address of the person entitled to the property is in this State;\nc.\tThe records of the holder do not reflect the last known address of the apparent owner, and it is established that:\n(1)\tThe last known address of the person entitled to the property is in this State, or\n(2)\tThe holder is a domiciliary or a government or governmental subdivision or agency of this State and has not previously paid or delivered the property to the state of the last known address of the apparent owner or other person entitled to the property;\nd.\tThe last known address, as shown on the records of the holder, of the apparent owner is in a state that does not provide by law for the escheat or custodial taking of the property or its escheat or unclaimed property law is not applicable to the property and the holder is a domiciliary or a government or governmental subdivision or agency of this State;\ne.\tThe last known address, as shown on the records of the holder, of the apparent owner is in a foreign nation and the holder is a domiciliary or a government or governmental subdivision or agency of this State; or\nf.\tThe transaction out of which the property arose occurred in this State, and\n(1)\tThe last known address of the apparent owner or other person entitled to the property is unknown, or\n(2)\tThe last known address of the apparent owner or other person entitled to the property is in a state that does not provide by law for the escheat or custodial taking of the property or its escheat or unclaimed property law is not applicable to the property, and\n(3)\tThe holder is a domiciliary of a state that does not provide by law for the escheat or custodial taking of the property or its escheat or unclaimed property law is not applicable to the property.\nL.1989, c.58, s.1; amended 2002, c.35, s.8.","path":["TITLE 46 PROPERTY"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"11fc73b44597be003bfbdf3bc2fab879704a3865718eb41253659a8ee33a1fc0","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-46-30b-9","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-46-30b-10.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
