The provisions of this act shall apply to the testing, certification and enforcement of efficiency standards for the following types of new products sold, offered for sale or installed in the State:\n(1)\tcommercial clothes washers;\n(2)\tcommercial refrigerators and freezers;\n(3)\tilluminated exit signs;\n(4)\tair- cooled very large commercial package air conditioning and heating equipment;\n(5)\tlow-voltage dry-type distribution transformers;\n(6)\ttorchiere lighting fixtures;\n(7)\ttraffic signal modules; and\n(8)\tunit heaters.\nb.\tThe provisions of this act shall not apply to:\n(1)\tnew products manufactured in the State and sold outside the State;\n(2)\tnew products manufactured outside the State and sold at wholesale inside the State for final retail sale and installation outside the State;\n(3)\tproducts installed in mobile manufactured homes at the time of construction; or\n(4)\tproducts designed expressly for installation and use in recreational vehicles.\nL.2005,c.42,s.2.","path":["TITLE 48 PUBLIC UTILITIES"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"039cf8ddafb490fbe5685f58fc1e5dccbd6e10ccf7f3582d180793b98fe60e0b","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-48-3-99","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-48-3-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
