Stat. § 52:17B-214","heading":"Information about the missing person for record.","body":"3.\tAt the time a missing person report is filed, the law enforcement agency shall seek to ascertain and record the following information about the missing person:\na.\tThe name of the missing person, including any aliases;\nb.\tDate of birth;\nc.\tIdentifying marks, such as birthmarks, moles, tattoos, and scars;\nd.\tHeight and weight;\ne.\tGender;\nf.\tRace;\ng.\tCurrent hair color and true or natural hair color;\nh.\tEye color;\ni.\tProsthetics, surgical implants, or cosmetic implants;\nj.\tPhysical anomalies;\nk.\tBlood type, if known;\nl.\tAny medications the missing person is taking or needs to take;\nm.\tDriver's license number, if known;\nn.\tSocial security number, if known;\no.\tA recent photograph of the missing person, if available;\np.\tA description of the clothing the missing person was believed to be wearing at the time of disappearance;\nq.\tA description of notable items that the missing person may be carrying and wearing;\nr.\tInformation regarding the missing person's electronic communications devices, such as a cell phone number or e-mail address;\ns.\tThe reasons why the reporting person believes that the person is missing;\nt.\tThe name and location of the missing person's school or employer, if known;\nu.\tThe name and location of the missing person's dentist and primary care physician, if known;\nv.\tAny circumstances that may indicate that the disappearance was not voluntary;\nw.\tAny circumstances that indicate that the missing person may be at risk of injury or death;\nx.\tA description of the possible means of transportation of the missing person, such as the make, model, color, license, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of a motor vehicle;\ny.\tAny identifying information about a known or possible abductor or the person last seen with the missing person including:\n(1)\tname;\n(2)\t physical description;\n(3)\tdate of birth;\n(4)\tidentifying marks;\n(5)\t description of possible means of transportation, such as the make, model, color, license, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of a motor vehicle; and\n(6)\tknown associates;\nz.\tAny other information that can aid in locating the missing person; and\naa.\tDate of last contact.\nL.2007, c.279, s.3.","path":["TITLE 52 STATE GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICERS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"6a39e943dca8630ff316d4a9fe25f4879dee4fb1faff00189487f0253ab2d48d","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-17b-213","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-17b-215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
