Stat. § 52:18A-21","heading":"Director of Division of Local Government","body":"The administrative head of the Division of Local Government shall be the director, who shall be a person qualified by training and experience to direct the work assigned to such division.  The director of such division shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, and shall  serve during the term of office of the Governor appointing him and until the  director's successor is appointed and has qualified.\nThe director of the Division of Local Government shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law.\nThe person in office as director of the Division of Local Government of the  existing State Department of Taxation and Finance on the thirtieth day of June,  one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, shall hold the office of director of  the Division of Local Government in the Department of the Treasury established  hereunder for the period of his term as director of the Division of Local  Government in the existing State Department of Taxation and Finance which  remains unexpired on the effective date of this act, and until his successor is  appointed and has qualified.\nL.1948, c. 92, p. 519, s. 21.","path":["TITLE 52 STATE GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICERS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"4f88e65ef1f8d63422bf9d939e83e42ed267187250178f0a79a6f97400dfcb9a","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-18a-20","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-18a-22"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
