If the department has reason to believe that a condition exists that poses an imminent threat to the public health, safety or welfare, the department may initiate a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction for injunctive relief to enforce or prevent a violation of sections 14 through 24 of P.L.1993, c.288 (C.52:27D-427 through C.52:27D-437).
