Stat. § 52:4B-53","heading":"Certification process for forensic sexual assault nurse examiners; qualifications.","body":"5.\tThe Attorney General and the New Jersey Board of Nursing shall jointly establish a certification process for a forensic sexual assault nurse examiner.\na.\tAn applicant for certification as a forensic sexual assault nurse examiner shall be a registered professional nurse licensed in the State and in good standing with the New Jersey Board of Nursing, and shall have the following qualifications:\n(1)\tA minimum of two years of current nursing experience as defined by regulation of the Attorney General pursuant to section 17 of this act;\n(2)\tCertification verifying the completion of a forensic sexual assault nurse examiner training program that meets requirements established by the Attorney General and the New Jersey Board of Nursing; and\n(3)\tDemonstrates clinical competence in performing a forensic sexual assault examination.\nb.\tThe Attorney General and the New Jersey Board of Nursing shall certify an applicant who meets the requirements of subsection a. of this section as a certified forensic sexual assault nurse examiner.\nL.2001,c.81,s.5.","path":["TITLE 52 STATE GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICERS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"5f8ae544c1b9901d1e8211eede1ae62dc56d2064f3770b71bcba0d14cc6fe9e7","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-4b-52","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-4b-54"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
