Stat. § 52:9YY-8","heading":"Additional powers of department.","body":"8.\tTo effectuate the purposes of P.L.2001, c.192 (C.52:9YY-1 et seq.), and in addition to any other powers authorized by law, the department shall have the authority, in accordance with State law, to:\na.\tmake and enter into contracts to purchase services and supplies and to hire consultants;\nb.\tdevelop and submit a proposed budget;\nc.\taccept gifts and charitable contributions;\nd.\tapply for, receive and expend grants;\ne.\tadopt regulations, pursuant to the \"Administrative Procedure Act,\" P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), to effectuate the purposes of this act;\nf.\testablish charges for and collect payment from persons and entities for the provision of services, including the dissemination of health data;\ng.\treceive and expend appropriations;\nh.\tenter into a reimbursable work program with other State government agencies or private entities under which funds are transferred from the other agencies or entities to the department for the performance of activities pursuant to this act; and\ni.\tprovide such other services and perform such other functions as the department deems necessary to fulfill its responsibilities under this act.\nL.2001, c.192, s.8; amended 2010, c.87, s.16.","path":["TITLE 52 STATE GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICERS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"ffb2a7c7252fac17637ac5af7e36010f91741c01b644c44ab36e40ea39239d67","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-9yy-7","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-52-9yy-9"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
