Stat. § 54:1-92","heading":"Duties of county assessor.","body":"7.\tThe county assessor shall:\na.\tsupervise the deputy county assessors and, when appropriate, recommend the removal of a deputy county assessor for failure to adhere to standards of performance adopted by the director or schedules or standards adopted pursuant to P.L.2009, c.118 (C.54:1-86 et al.);\nb.\tassure compliance with standards adopted by the director for staff of the deputy county assessors, office space, equipment, and other resources;\nc.\tnotify the county tax board of any revaluation, or complete or partial reassessment, which may be necessary and appropriate for a taxing district, and monitor the progress and review, revise or correct the results of any revaluation or reassessment which may be ordered by the county tax board;\nd.\tmonitor the progress, and review, revise, or correct the results of any other revaluation or reassessment conducted within his jurisdiction;\ne.\treview, revise, and correct all property assessment lists prepared by the deputy county assessors within the pilot county;\nf.\tprovide such technical and professional assistance as may be requested by deputy county assessors, and as may be practicable within the support provided for the county assessor by the county governing body; and\ng.\tperform any other tasks which the director deems necessary to ensure the valuation of property within the pilot county pursuant to law.\nL.2009, c.118, s.7.","path":["TITLE 54 TAXATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"4bbf10a40bf241826a88f727152f458bf94854fbb47bd0e64f6071ccb45efdbd","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-54-1-91","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-54-1-93"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
