Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 27 and 28 of P.L.1993, c.139 (C.58:10B-5 and 58:10B-6), or any other law, or any rule or regulation adopted pursuant thereto to the contrary, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority may provide grants or removeable grants from the Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund established pursuant to section 26 of P.L.1993, c.139 (C.58:10B-4) to a municipality that has received a commitment prior to the effective date of this act from the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, established pursuant to P.L.1996, c.62 (C.55:19-20 et al.), for funding the implementation of a remedial action and any other activities within the approved scope of work associated with the redevelopment of a brownfield site.\nb.\tGrants may be provided pursuant to the provisions of this act to the following municipalities for the following projects:\nMunicipality\t\t\t\t\tAmount\nBayonne\t\t\t\t\t$   344,657\nCamden\t\t\t\t\t     500,000\nCamden-Nipper\t\t\t\t  1,500,000\nCamden-Trailways\t\t\t\t     750,000\nEast Orange\t\t\t\t\t     100,000\nGlassboro\t\t\t\t\t       94,000\nLong Branch\t\t\t\t\t     350,000\nNewark K-Mart\t\t\t\t     673,500\nNewark Bergen Street\t\t\t       50,000\nNew Brunswick-Heldrich Center\t\t   1,000,000\nPerth Amboy\t\t\t\t\t      845,000\nPlainfield\t\t\t\t\t      750,000\nPleasantville\t\t\t\t\t    1,000,000\nRahway-80 East Milton\t\t\t       750,000\nRahway-Main \u0026 Monroe\t\t\t         25,000\nTrenton\t\t\t\t\t         84,000\n$8,816,157\nc.\tAny repayments to the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority for grants or other financial assistance made for brownfields remediation or redevelopment pursuant to the provisions of this act shall be paid to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and shall be deposited into the fund.\nd.\tAs used in this act, \"brownfield site\" means any former or current commercial or industrial site that is currently vacant or underutilized and on which there has been, or there is suspected to have been, a discharge of a contaminant.\nL.2003,c.121,s.1.","path":["TITLE 58 WATERS AND WATER SUPPLY"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"9923b9f62cfbbd6f5e5b6b68940865400b1df76b760cd49eb7c889611e1de9f1","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-58-10b-6","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-58-10b-6.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
