{"data":{"id":"us-nm/22-15-2","jurisdiction":"us-nm","citation":"22-15-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in the Instructional Material Law [22-15-1 to 22-15-14 NMSA 1978]:\nA. \"division\" or \"bureau\" means the instructional material bureau of the department;\nB. \"director\" or \"chief\" means the chief of the bureau;\nC. \"instructional material\" means school textbooks and other educational media that are used as the basis for instruction, including combinations of textbooks, learning kits, supplementary material and electronic media;\nD. \"multiple list\" means a written list of those instructional materials approved by the department;\nE. \"membership\" means the total enrollment of qualified students on the fortieth day of the school year entitled to the free use of instructional material pursuant to the Instructional Material Law;\nF. \"additional pupil\" means a pupil in a school district's, state institution's or private school's current year's certified forty-day membership above the number certified in the school district's, state institution's or private school's prior year's forty-day membership;\nG. \"school district\" includes state-chartered charter schools; and\nH. \"other classroom materials\" means materials other than textbooks that are used to support direct instruction to students.","path":["Chapter 22 - Public Schools","ARTICLE 15 Instructional Material"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18522/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"f4e43dee554bfee3ea48e3000ab1fdece9934ffe082f7b797d905563028d2a82","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/22-15-1","next":"us-nm/22-15-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
