The \"Hispanic education liaison\" is created in the department.\nB. The liaison shall:\n(1) focus on issues related to Hispanic education and advise the secretary on the development and implementation of policy regarding the education of Hispanic students;\n(2) advise the department and the commission on the development and implementation of the five-year strategic plan for public elementary and secondary education in the state as the plan relates to Hispanic student education;\n(3) assist and be assisted by other staff in the department to improve elementary, secondary and post-secondary educational outcomes for Hispanic students;\n(4) serve as a resource to enable school districts and charter schools to provide equitable and culturally relevant learning environments, educational opportunities and culturally relevant instructional materials for Hispanic students enrolled in public schools;\n(5) support and consult with the Hispanic education advisory council; and\n(6) support school districts and charter schools to recruit parents on site-based and school district committees that represent the ethnic diversity of the community.","path":["Chapter 22 - Public Schools","ARTICLE 23B Hispanic Education"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18522/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"8a784352da652882ee31643d25e9142950317e6821ac728b6da9c9ecd616e398","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/22-23b-3","next":"us-nm/22-23b-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
