Every physician examining a pregnant woman for conditions relating to her pregnancy during the period of gestation or at delivery or both shall take or cause to be taken a sample of blood of such woman at the time of first examination.\nB. All such blood samples shall be submitted to the state public health laboratory for a standard serological test for syphilis.\nC. The standard serological test shall be a test for syphilis approved by the director of the department.
