The \"hospital-acquired infection advisory committee\" is created in the department to conduct surveillance of hospital-acquired infections. Members of the advisory committee shall include:\n(1) a consumer of health care services;\n(2) a representative of the New Mexico association for professionals in infection control and epidemiology;\n(3) a representative of the New Mexico hospital association;\n(4) a representative of the New Mexico medical review association;\n(5) a local representative of the society for healthcare epidemiology of America; and\n(6) the department's infectious disease epidemiology bureau.\nB. The advisory committee shall:\n(1) establish objectives, definitions, criteria and standards for the reporting of hospital-acquired infections;\n(2) work with hospitals to identify and recruit volunteer participating hospitals in surveillance of hospital-acquired infections and other indicators;\n(3) develop objectives and action plans for instituting a statewide program of surveillance of hospital-acquired infections and other indicators;\n(4) identify the specific infections and indicators that are to be subject to surveillance and reporting;\n(5) identify, and make recommendations regarding, training in the use of the surveillance system or in the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections and infectious disease;\n(6) develop and disseminate to the public appropriate reports of the findings of surveillance; and\n(7) consult as necessary with technical advisors who have regional or national expertise in the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections and infectious disease.","path":["Chapter 24 - Health and Safety","ARTICLE 29 Hospital-Acquired Infection"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18524/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"9c9c487fe3b2821d953d8677ec0b401fa80af7ee9d1556cbb746ab99d27bdc97","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/24-29-2","next":"us-nm/24-29-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
