{"data":{"id":"us-nm/24-2c-5","jurisdiction":"us-nm","citation":"24-2C-5","heading":"Program.","body":"The harm reduction program shall provide participants with:\nA. sterile hypodermic syringes and needles in exchange for used hypodermic syringes, needles or other objects used to inject controlled substances or controlled substance analogs into the human body;\nB. other objects used to prepare or consume controlled substances or controlled substance analogs;\nC. supplies or devices used for testing controlled substances or controlled substance analogs for potentially dangerous adulterants;\nD. supplies or devices approved by the department for distribution in accordance with rules established pursuant to Subsection E of Section 24-2C-4 NMSA 1978;\nE. education on the prevention of:\n(1) the transmission of the human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitis B and C; and\n(2) drug overdose mortality and other negative health outcomes; and\nF. referral to substance abuse treatment services.","path":["Chapter 24 - Health and Safety","ARTICLE 2C Harm Reduction"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18524/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"f56551df38b9cede6be785bb242db89ef5f82028d77edf294182f1215af260b4","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/24-2c-4","next":"us-nm/24-2c-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
