{"data":{"id":"us-nm/24-35-2","jurisdiction":"us-nm","citation":"24-35-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in the Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Health Care Protection Act:\nA. \"gender-affirming health care\" means psychological, behavioral, surgical, pharmaceutical and medical care, services and supplies provided to support an individual's gender identity;\nB. \"protected health care activity\" means:\n(1) seeking, providing or receiving reproductive or gender-affirming health care; or\n(2) assisting an individual who is seeking, receiving or providing reproductive or gender-affirming health care, including providing:\n(a) information;\n(b) transportation;\n(c) lodging; or\n(d) material support;\nC. \"public body\" means a state or local government, an advisory board, a commission, an agency or an entity created by the constitution of New Mexico or a branch of government that receives public funding, including political subdivisions, special tax districts, school districts and institutions of higher education; and\nD. \"reproductive health care\" means psychological, behavioral, surgical, pharmaceutical and medical care, services and supplies that relate to the human reproductive system, including services related to:\n(1) preventing a pregnancy;\n(2) abortion;\n(3) managing a pregnancy loss;\n(4) prenatal, birth, perinatal and postpartum health;\n(5) managing perimenopause and menopause;\n(6) managing infertility;\n(7) treating cancers of the reproductive system; or\n(8) preventing sexually transmitted infections.","path":["Chapter 24 - Health and Safety","ARTICLE 35 Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Health Care Protection"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18524/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"d63fb3773b70a0cfd1d9d2ae86f682b7ca17c4b2631f32b100ccd20cb618a75e","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/24-35-1","next":"us-nm/24-35-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
