The powers and duties of the crime stoppers advisory council are to:\n(1) advise and assist in the creation and maintenance of local crime stoppers programs;\n(2) certify local crime stoppers programs for the purposes of confidentiality of records, privileges and immunities set forth in the Crime Stoppers Act;\n(3) encourage the media to promote the functions of local crime stoppers programs; and\n(4) facilitate training for local crime stoppers programs.\nB.
