{"data":{"id":"us-nm/30-16-36","jurisdiction":"us-nm","citation":"30-16-36","heading":"Receipt of property obtained in violation of act.","body":"A person who receives money, goods, services or anything else of value obtained in violation of Section 30-16-33 NMSA 1978, and who knows or has reason to believe that it was so obtained, violates this section. The degree of the offense is determined as follows:\nA. when the value of all things of value obtained from a person in violation of this section is two hundred fifty dollars ($250) or less in any consecutive six-month period, then the offense is a petty misdemeanor;\nB. when the value of all things of value obtained from a person in violation of this section is more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250) but not more than five hundred dollars ($500) in any consecutive six-month period, then the offense is a misdemeanor;\nC. when the value of all things of value obtained from a person in violation of this section is more than five hundred dollars ($500) but not more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) in any consecutive six-month period, then the offense is a fourth degree felony;\nD. when the value of all things of value obtained from a person in violation of this section is more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) but not more than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) in any consecutive six-month period, then the offense is a third degree felony; or\nE. when the value of all things of value obtained from a person in violation of this section is more than twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) in any consecutive six-month period, then the offense is a second degree felony.","path":["Chapter 30 - Criminal Offenses","ARTICLE 16 Larceny"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18530/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:19Z","sha256":"069429f092bd7d96635b6d0b0f264d981cd14993db9be2d3f7ec5dcbac77fc0c","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/30-16-35","next":"us-nm/30-16-37"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
