{"data":{"id":"us-nm/59a-42a-2","jurisdiction":"us-nm","citation":"59A-42A-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in the Provider Service Network Act:\nA. \"association\" means the provider service network guaranty association;\nB. \"board\" means the provider service network guaranty board;\nC. \"health care facility\" means an institution providing health care services, including a hospital or other licensed inpatient center, an ambulatory surgical or treatment center, a skilled nursing center, a residential treatment center, a home health agency, a diagnostic, laboratory or imaging center and a rehabilitation or other therapeutic health setting;\nD. \"health care insurer\" means a person that has a valid certificate of authority in good standing under the New Mexico Insurance Code to act as an insurer, health maintenance organization, nonprofit health care plan or prepaid dental plan;\nE. \"health care professional\" means a physician or other health care practitioner, including a pharmacist, who is licensed, certified or otherwise authorized by the state to provide health care services consistent with state law;\nF. \"health care services\" includes physical health services or community-based mental health or developmental disability services, including services for developmental delay;\nG. \"person\" means an individual or other legal entity;\nH. \"provider\" means a person that is licensed or otherwise authorized by the state to furnish health care services, including health care professionals and health care facilities; and\nI. \"provider service network\" means two or more providers affiliated for the purpose of providing health care services on a capitated or similar prepaid, flat-fee basis.","path":["Chapter 59A - Insurance Code","ARTICLE 42A Provider Service Networks"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18562/index.do","current_through":"2026-07-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:20Z","sha256":"08a8b0d940d00f1e8dc2206e98c69bc2bbefa7be86543071da66d85ad2d439c2","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/59a-42a-1","next":"us-nm/59a-42a-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
