(Repealed effective July 1, 2028.)","body":"In preparing the hearing aid dispensing examination, the board shall use tests that demonstrate:\nA. knowledge in the fitting and sale of hearing aids, including basic physics of sound, anatomy and physiology of the ear and the function of hearing aids; and\nB. proficient use of techniques for the fitting of hearing aids, including:\n(1) pure-tone audiometry, including air conduction and bone conduction testing;\n(2) live voice or recorded voice speech audiometry, including speech reception threshold and speech recognition score tests;\n(3) masking when indicated;\n(4) recording and evaluation of audiograms and speech audiometry for determining proper selection, fitting and adjustment of hearing aids;\n(5) taking earmold impressions; and\n(6) analyzing hearing aid function, modification and general service.","path":["Chapter 61 - Professional and Occupational Licenses","ARTICLE 14B Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing Practices"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18564/index.do","current_through":"2026-05-20","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:20Z","sha256":"f2715841f01be7a3225a2bc6157e68c3c1ebc7f8c4a864168990d101697fe952","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/61-14b-17","next":"us-nm/61-14b-19"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
