An athlete agent, with the intent to induce a student athlete to enter into an agency contract, shall not:\n(1) give any materially false or misleading information or make a materially false promise or representation;\n(2) furnish anything of value to a student athlete before the student athlete enters into the agency contract; or\n(3) furnish anything of value to any individual other than the student athlete or another registered athlete agent.\nB. An athlete agent shall not intentionally:\n(1) initiate contact with a student athlete unless registered pursuant to the Uniform Athlete Agents Act;\n(2) refuse or fail to retain or permit inspection of the records required to be retained pursuant to Section 13 [61-14F-13 NMSA 1978] of the Uniform Athlete Agents Act;\n(3) fail to register when required pursuant to Section 4 [61-14F-4 NMSA 1978] of the Uniform Athlete Agents Act;\n(4) provide materially false or misleading information in an application for registration or renewal of registration;\n(5) predate or postdate an agency contract; or\n(6) fail to notify a student athlete before the student athlete signs or otherwise authenticates an agency contract for a particular sport that the signing or authentication may make the student athlete ineligible to participate as a student athlete in that sport.","path":["Chapter 61 - Professional and Occupational Licenses","ARTICLE 14F Uniform Athlete Agents"],"source_url":"https://nmonesource.com/nmos/nmsa-unanno/en/item/18564/index.do","current_through":"2026-05-20","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T15:02:20Z","sha256":"29aa4d8efc0d5e9fdf965ffce63703d212fbe619f9d0001ee58c4db936c1e5ff","source_id":"us-nm","stale":false,"prev":"us-nm/61-14f-13","next":"us-nm/61-14f-15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
