A security officer employed:\n(a) Pursuant to NRS 244.167 by a board of county commissioners; or\n(b) Pursuant to NRS 266.323 by the governing body of a city,\nÊ has the powers of a peace officer when the security officer is carrying out duties prescribed by ordinance.\n2. A person appointed pursuant to subsection 1 of NRS 269.235 by a town board or board of county commissioners has the powers of a peace officer.\n3.
