{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-388.5975","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 388.5975","heading":"Criteria for award of State Seal of STEAM.","body":"A school district, charter school and university school for profoundly gifted pupils that participates in the State Seal of STEAM Program established pursuant to NRS 388.597 must award a pupil, upon graduation from high school, a high school diploma with a State Seal of STEAM if the pupil:\n1. Earns at least a 3.25 grade point average, on a 4.0 grading scale, or a 3.85 weighted grade point average, on a grading scale approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction if a different grading scale is used.\n2. Demonstrates proficiency in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics by earning:\n(a) At least 3 credits in science;\n(b) At least 4 credits in mathematics;\n(c) At least 1 credit in computer science, engineering, manufacturing, electronics or a career and technical education program of study in information and media technologies or skilled and technical sciences;\n(d) At least 1 credit in fine arts;\n(e) Any one of the following:\n(1) A score of 3 or higher on an advanced placement examination in science;\n(2) A score of 4 or higher on an international baccalaureate examination in science;\n(3) A score of 650 or higher on a SAT Subject Test in science;\n(4) A score of 23 or higher on the ACT in science;\n(5) A grade of B or higher in a college-level science course completed through dual enrollment; or\n(6) A score of gold or higher on the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate; and\n(f) Any one of the following:\n(1) A score of 3 or higher on an advanced placement examination in mathematics;\n(2) A score of 4 or higher on an international baccalaureate examination in mathematics;\n(3) A score of 530 or higher on the SAT in mathematics;\n(4) A score of 22 or higher on the ACT in mathematics;\n(5) A grade of B or higher in a college-level mathematics course completed through dual enrollment; or\n(6) A score of gold or higher on the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.","path":["TITLE 34 — EDUCATION","CHAPTER 388 - SYSTEM OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION","EDUCATION AND COUNSELING OF DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-388.html#NRS388Sec5975","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:38Z","sha256":"c04e02a6d541b800a5385ab64c1210618d0b5d6deb31ceaaf1dace63a35840bd","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-388.597","next":"us-nv/nrs-388.605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
