{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-388.605","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 388.605","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in NRS 388.605 to 388.655, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires:\n1. “Board” means the Board for the Education and Counseling of Displaced Homemakers.\n2. “Director” means the Director of the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.\n3. “Displaced homemaker” means any person who:\n(a) Is not gainfully employed or has less than full-time or adequate employment;\n(b) Has worked at home for a substantial number of years providing household services to members of his or her family without compensation;\n(c) Has difficulty in securing employment adequate for economic independence; and\n(d) Has been dependent:\n(1) On the income of another member of his or her family, but is no longer supported by that income;\n(2) Upon public assistance but is no longer eligible; or\n(3) On another member of his or her family for the management of his or her personal finances, but that person is no longer available to provide that assistance.","path":["TITLE 34 — EDUCATION","CHAPTER 388 - SYSTEM OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION","EDUCATION AND COUNSELING OF DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-388.html#NRS388Sec605","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:38Z","sha256":"23445333ecb018bc3b8fdec8d40beae52e814e982fddc565d892312d0ad9da79","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-388.5975","next":"us-nv/nrs-388.615"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
