{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-388a.510","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 388A.510","heading":"“Volunteer” defined.","body":"“Volunteer” means any person who, without compensation, works at, assists with or oversees any activity or event conducted or sponsored by a charter school during or outside of school hours. The term:\n1. Includes, without limitation, a coach, assistant coach, director of in-school or extracurricular activities and chaperone of any overnight trip.\n2. Does not include:\n(a) A student who is enrolled at an institution of higher education and is:\n(1) Taking a course which requires the student to be present in the classroom of the charter school on a limited basis to observe and to be observed in the classroom; and\n(2) Under direct supervision of a teacher or his or her professor at all times while in the classroom.\n(b) An employee of a business, agency or organization that participates in a work-based learning program pursuant to NRS 389.167, other than an employee who directly oversees the participation of or has unsupervised contact with a pupil in the work-based learning program.","path":["TITLE 34 — EDUCATION","CHAPTER 388A - CHARTER SCHOOLS","PERSONNEL","Qualifications and Requirements"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-388A.html#NRS388ASec510","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:38Z","sha256":"e1de9a9202ec28d31e6685306b0f558b1f1f5fca040471123b97244e0689f5fe","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-388a.505","next":"us-nv/nrs-388a.515"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
