Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, and subject to the limitation imposed by NRS 484A.782, a grace period of not less than 30 calendar days must be provided to a person who has failed to appear in court or failed to pay any administrative assessment, fine or court fee imposed upon the person for a violation of any provision of chapters 484A to 484E, inclusive, of NRS before a warrant can be issued for such a failure to appear or failure to pay.\n2. The provisions of subsection 1 do not apply if:\n(a) The court determines that providing such a grace period would substantially jeopardize public safety;\n(b) The person was issued a traffic citation for:\n(1) Reckless driving in violation of NRS 484B.653;\n(2) Vehicular manslaughter in violation of NRS 484B.657; or\n(3) Driving, operating or being in actual physical control of a vehicle, a power-driven vessel or a sailing vessel under way while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a controlled substance in violation of NRS 484C.110, 484C.120 or 488.410, as applicable; or\n(c) During the immediately preceding 30 calendar days, the person was released from custody and given a date to return to court but failed to appear in court.","path":["TITLE 43 — PUBLIC SAFETY; VEHICLES; WATERCRAFT","CHAPTER 484A - TRAFFIC LAWS GENERALLY","VIOLATIONS OF TRAFFIC LAWS","Administrative Assessments, Fines and Court Fees"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-484A.html#NRS484ASec780","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:41Z","sha256":"5674898d44e5b37a9863fcef382823339ac5a90cfa9f7e5a756604398dbd261f","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-484a.774","next":"us-nv/nrs-484a.782"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
