{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-487.210","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 487.210","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in NRS 487.210 to 487.305, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires:\n1. “Abandoned vehicle” means a vehicle:\n(a) If the vehicle is discovered upon public lands, that the owner has discarded.\n(b) If the vehicle is discovered upon public or private property other than public lands:\n(1) That the owner has discarded; or\n(2) Which has not been reclaimed by the registered owner or a person having a security interest in the vehicle within 15 days after notification pursuant to NRS 487.250.\n2. “Public lands” means all lands within the exterior boundaries of the State of Nevada except lands:\n(a) To which title is held by any private person or entity;\n(b) To which title is held by the State of Nevada, any of its local governments or the Nevada System of Higher Education;\n(c) Which are located within congressionally authorized national parks, monuments, national forests or wildlife refuges or which are lands acquired by purchase consented to by the Legislature;\n(d) Which are controlled by the United States Department of Defense, Department of Energy or Bureau of Reclamation; or\n(e) Which are held in trust for Indian purposes or are Indian reservations.","path":["TITLE 43 — PUBLIC SAFETY; VEHICLES; WATERCRAFT","CHAPTER 487 - REPAIR, REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF VEHICLES","ABANDONED VEHICLES"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-487.html#NRS487Sec210","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:42Z","sha256":"e2e0966d233c5d0fdf6f6000070427870e942d0a028341af43fb2f665d789053","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-487.205","next":"us-nv/nrs-487.220"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
