{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-501.1812","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 501.1812","heading":"System of assessing demerit points for wildlife convictions: Definitions.","body":"As used in NRS 501.1812 to 501.1818, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires:\n1. “License” means a license or tag issued by the Department for:\n(a) Recreational hunting or fishing; or\n(b) Taking fur-bearing mammals, trapping unprotected mammals or selling raw furs for profit.\n2. “Permit” means a permit issued by the Department for recreational hunting or fishing.\n3. “Wildlife conviction” means a conviction obtained in any court of competent jurisdiction in this State, including, without limitation, a conviction obtained upon a plea of nolo contendere or upon a forfeiture of bail not vacated in any such court, for a violation of:\n(a) A provision of this title or any regulation adopted pursuant to this title other than a provision of NRS 502.370, 502.390, 503.185, 503.310 or 504.295 to 504.398, inclusive; or\n(b) A provision of the Lacey Act Amendments of 1981, 16 U.S.C. §§ 3371 et seq., if the violation of that provision is based on a violation of a law or regulation of this State.","path":["TITLE 45 — WILDLIFE","CHAPTER 501 - ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT","BOARD OF WILDLIFE COMMISSIONERS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-501.html#NRS501Sec1812","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:42Z","sha256":"433a21914962b10b6b8f6f33117c27fe7d0787f7acec262275968541e3d646a8","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-501.181","next":"us-nv/nrs-501.1814"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
